Representation - Junior Paramedic.

Junior Paramedic -

Age- Overall junior paramedic's is a positive representation, this is because its showing young adults doing something with their lives and saving peoples lives. This goes away for the stereotype of a young adults as most of them as going out getting drunk, and only caring about themselves. Also its a positive representation as they are saving people life's. This could appeal to teenagers 15 - 18 who are trying to figure out what they want to do with their life's. This will give them a idea of what people their age and doing. Also people who thinking about being a Paramedic could see involves and what they will have to cope with and see if they can deal with what happens. It shows the viewers what life they have and shows that they are just normal teenagers, who are doing things faster then stereotypical teenager.

Gender- With a guy being the first person at the start of the credits it could show that he has most power then the rest. Giving you an impression that he is better then the females. But there are more females within the show, giving you the impression that they know more about what they want to do with their lives. With everyone doing the clearing and washing up, it gives you an impression that everyone has the same amount of power within the halls.

Issues- The issues that are shown are negative, for example the car crash at the start. Giving the view different ideas of what happened, for example was he speeding and how did it happen. This could link to personal identity, someone being able to link to that and being in that situation.

Enthicity- most if not all are white showing on enthicity within the show, this is a negative representation.

Representation

Neighbours

Gender-  Gender is shown in a different way in Neighbours. For example Paul is the shown to be the stereotypical bad guy, showing men in a negative way. He is also the mayor, giving the impressive that he has more power then anyone else. Also getting he impression that he is obsessed with power being the owner of the hotel and bar and being the mayor. thinking that he is better then anyone. You can get this impression when they show that he is in the penthouse. With Paul being in power it gives you an impression that stereotypical men should have more power then women. Also he always wearing a shirt and blazer, showing that he is working class and very wealth being able to but the suits.
A representation for a women is Susan, as she is the head teacher of the high school. this is a positive representation of her. This gives you an impression that she has power within the school, but with Paul as the mayor this give you the impression that he has power over her.
Another representation on men is when Dannii starts talking about her ex boyfriend, and how he was abusive to her, this is a negative representation of men. having close up of Dannii's face showing that she is scary, gives you an idea of how bad the abuse was. This is also shown with the camera's that she has put up and that are only on during working hours, showing that she does't want him to find her and that she is so scared to work, or go out anywhere. Also with her being really jumpy when clients come in, showing just how scared she is that he is going to find her.

Ethnicity- there isn't any ethnicity is neighbours, this is because all of the characters are white. This shows no diversity within the show. This now shows a negative representation of Neighbours.

Age- Neighbours is target to different ages group, having the different characters. the main age group that they are targeting is 40-60. This would be the main target audience, as they will be able to connect with the story lines and they may have been to the same or similar situation. They will also attract to different age groups, as they have different characters who are different ages. They have a positive representations of 16 to 18 within the shows, they are represented as being mature adults.

Issues- Neighbours are both positive and negative representation, this is because it shows issues that occurring is everyday live. This could help someone in that issues. These are things such as economic issues, e.g - Georgia thinking that Kyle is unable to support her and they baby, so she is going to move back to her home town with her parents and she thinks they can give her the support she needs. People watching the show, maybe put into the same situation. The issues within Neighbours could be a positive representation on them as it makes them forget about their own problems and think about others. (fictional characters problems)
